NCAC aims at achieving a business environment where business communities have access to an efficient commercial dispute resolution mechanism, in particular through arbitration service. This Arbitration Skill Training Course was initially developed with support from the World Bank in order to build knowledge and skills to train future arbitrators and arbitration practitioners to effectively and efficiently resolve commercial disputes. The curriculum was designed to deepen understanding of arbitration and its legal framework, as well as to build skills necessary for arbitrators to conduct arbitration successfully and effectively, including techniques to draft effective and enforceable arbitral awards and the opportunity to participate in the mock arbitration. The course is open to those who passed the Introductory Level Course and are willing to deepen their knowledge of arbitration.
This course offers specific knowledge and skills that are necessary for arbitrators to manage and complete arbitration proceedings. Upon completion of this course, participants will obtain foundational knowledge and skills that are necessary to act as an arbitrator at NCAC arbitrations. The intermediate course consists of five modules:
- Module 1: Arbitration Agreements and Commencement
- Module 2: Organizing the Arbitration
- Module 3: Substantive Hearing
- Module 4: Arbitral Award
- Module 5: Drafting an Arbitral Award
Note: NCAC reserves the right to change the course date and methods of training as necessary.
