GTCC Webinar

"Development of the microelectronics industry in Thailand and Germany - Fostering partnerships"

Thursday, 19 May 2022

15:00 - 16:30 hrs. Thai time / 10:00 – 11:30 hrs. German time

via ZOOM

Global semiconductor chip shortage is currently a bottleneck in the supply chain of many industrial sectors including the automotive sector. With an outlook toward trends of electric vehicles and autonomous driving, the demand will be even more increased. To secure sustainable supply of the semiconductor chips, strategies need to be developed among international partners from various global regions. This webinar aims to provide insights in the microelectronic and semiconductor industries in Germany and Thailand including current status, challenge and outlook. Since this deep-tech industry relies on scientific research and capacity building, close collaboration with academic institutions is required. The webinar will provide a glimpse into German-Thai collaboration as well as human resource development in semiconductor technology. Presentations of German and Thai experts from the semiconductor industry and academic institutions will be featured together with a discussion session providing an excellent opportunity for online networking.
