The Prosecutor's Office (the "PO") has become more active in antitrust law enforcement (e.g., the recent built-in furniture bid-rigging cartel). In its investigations, the PO regularly investigates CEOs and other high-level decision-makers and conducts search-and-seizures to secure evidence. The PO is also expected to more actively utilize its own criminal leniency program, which is operated separately from the leniency program offered by the Korea Fair Trade Commission.

In light of these developments, we have organized a seminar to analyze the growing personal criminal risks faced by CEOs of foreign companies doing business in Korea and discuss appropriate responses.
