Leading with Equity Dispositions to Design for Belonging

Join us for our AAIE Equity Conversation. We are thrilled to have two esteemed international school leaders guiding today's discussion: Dr. Nneka Johnson (International Educational Consultant) and Dr. Jennifer Beckwith (Founding Director of American United School of Kuwait). Joining them is their special guest, Joel Jr Llaban (Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Justice at International Schools Services).

Building on our previous conversations on equity imperative, this session will focus on the essential dispositions for equity leadership. School leaders will engage in reflection and dialogues that highlight the mindsets, values, and attitudes necessary to lead and model equity in educational settings as foundations in designing for belonging. We will explore how cultivating dispositions such as empathy, cultural humility and responsiveness, self-awareness, and systems thinking can shape a school's culture and drive meaningful, sustainable change on learning and well being for all.
