Inaugural Jeff Van Rooyen Invitational


Every year, the Association for Black Accountants of South Africa (ABASA) comes together for its annual convention, a celebration of excellence, progress, and the enduring legacy of its past presidents. This year, we embark on a journey that is not just inspirational but also transformational. In a gesture of profound gratitude, ABASA has chosen to pay tribute to one of its founding fathers, President Jeff Van Rooyen, in a way that goes beyond words. The inaugural Jeff Van Rooyen Invitational sponsored by SAPRO ​is not merely a golf tournament; it's a testament to the power of one individual's commitment to change and a beacon of hope for all.


President Jeff Van Rooyen, a name synonymous with dedication, leadership, and an unwavering passion for golf, is more than just an icon. He embodies the idea that one person can make a significant impact on the world. As we gather for this historic event, we do so with hearts full of gratitude and admiration for his tireless efforts to transform the accounting profession and on the golf greens. He has shown commitment to this cause by founding Finding the Fairway, Which is aimed at ensuring that caddies are fairly compensated for the work they do and are not just bystanders in the world of golf but integral members of the game. It's about leveling the playing field and ensuring that every person, regardless of their background, has an equal chance to succeed.


Join ABASA as it hosts the Jeff Van Rooyen Invitational by registering for a 4-ball valued at R6900 (incl VAT) This event will take place at the Country Club Johannesburg (CCJ), Woodmead on the 6th of November 2023 with tee-off scheduled for 11 am.


Individual ticket holders will receive the following:

  • Golf shirt and cap for each team member
  • Halfway meal


Participants of the 4-Ball in the Jeff Van Rooyen Invitational will receive the following:

  • Golf shirt and cap for each team member
  • Halfway meal
  • Networking Opportunity at the Golf Awards Dinner
  • 2 Caddies allocated per 4-ball.
  • 1 Golf Cart (additional golf carts to be ordered and paid for directly with the Club)
