The Association for the Advancement of Black Accountants of Southern Africa (ABASA) was formed in 1985 with one of its core strategic pillars being to be an agent for transformation in the accounting and auditing profession.
The advancement of black professionals to qualify as a CA(SA) is an important part of our mandate considering the significantly few black CAs and in turn a minute number of black women occupying this space.
The success of black candidates in the ITC board exam is therefore a crucial focus for ABASA to ensure entry into the APC board exam. We therefore, take it upon ourselves to ensure that no black professional is left behind and position ourselves in that the unique challenges faced by black candidates are heard, understood and catered for by all stakeholders involved.
This series aims to motivate and remind candidates that the CA dream is attainable and provide a platform for engagement allowing candidates to share their challenges and concerns freely to ensure these inputs are brought to the attention of key stakeholders such as SAICA, APC Board Courses and Training Offices.
We look forward to welcoming you all to the ABASA Education Family through this ITC Support Initiative and we hope to enjoy many more conversations with you all as you advance in your careers.
