Jose is an Adjunct Faculty for the School of Executive Education and Lifelong Learning, as well as for the Aboitiz School of Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship in the Asian Institute of Management where he teaches Futures Thinking. He has been a Business Director in SGS Philippines, a Strategic Transformation Manager for East Asia and a Continuous Improvement Project Manager for SGS Management Group, based in Switzerland, Australia, Hong Kong, and the Philippines. He is an Australia Awards Scholar and completed his Master of Supply Chain Innovation degree from Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia. He is a certified Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt by PwC Europe and Lean Leader by GE Europe.

He finished his Ph.D. at the Science, Business and Innovation faculty at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam as a Marie Curie fellow. He is a Collaborator at CERN and Postdoctoral researcher at ESADE Business School in Spain.
