Speakers
Wekesa Zablon is a regional coordinator for the African Circular Economy Network (ACEN),
organizer for CEC Nairobi Chapter and founded the UON Bikeshare program.. He is a designer
with Circular Design Nairobi and an impact consultant with rePurpose Global. He has extensive
knowledge in understanding Kenyan plastics value chains having worked as business
development lead at the FlipFlopi Project from May 2022 to April 2023, a community strategist
at Vintz Plastic Limited and consults for several other companies like WENFA Enterprises. He
also participated in the development of course materials for HNU’s-UR Masters program:
CIRCULAR AGRO-ECONOMY at University of Rwanda from 2021 and 2023 . He was one of
the authors for an EU report on Africa's circular economy and as a facilitator, he worked on the
2022 repair and reuse study funded by FCDO.
He holds a Bachelors of Arts design degree from University of Nairobi(2011). Wekesa employs
a variety of research methods to listen, understand, and evaluate in order to create actionable
insights that improve products and processes for users. He strives to empathize with the user as
fully as possible, and communicate their goals, wants, needs, joys, and failings to product teams
in order to create a product that truly serves the user.

CEO of Belovast Limited
Benard Odongo is the CEO at BELOVAST LIMITED, a waste/resource audit company that
conducts comprehensive audits for industries and businesses to identify waste streams and
develop tailored waste reduction plans. Their aim is to create effective, efficient, safe,
economical, environmentally respectful, and sustainable systems while reducing carbon
footprints and embracing circular economy principles. With a Bachelor's degree in Science, an
MBA, and a strong background in environment, sustainability, and circular economy, Benard is
committed to making our planet a better place.
Having won $5000 with The Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Program in Nigeria
and being trained by renowned organizations like Kenya Climate Innovation Center, Kenya
Climate Ventures (KCV), Google Hustle Academy, Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA),
Kenya Association of Manufacturers, Circular Innovation Hub, and Wadhwani Entrepreneurship Program
in South Africa, he’s gained invaluable knowledge and experience in financial
and production sustainability, circularity, and climate action.
His networking capabilities have led to exciting partnerships and collaborations with esteemed
companies like Capture 6 in California in planning to build a desalination plant in Kenya and
capture carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. This aligns perfectly with their vision of pioneering
the waste industry revolution by providing data-driven sustainable solutions.
