As the Deputy Chair of PR industry organisation, PRHK, Maria is responsible for bridging local PR professionals, corporations, educational institutions and students.

Maria is also Senior Director and Head of Operations at Burson Cohn & Wolfe (BCW) and brings with her over 14 years of experience in the PR and marketing industry. She is responsible for talent recruitment and development at BCW and leads global and regional integrated communication programmes for clients from various industry sectors.

Being fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin, Maria has taken on roles in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing.

Deborah is an expert in association management across several roles that include Chair, Board Member, Committee Chair and as a paid Chief Executive.

She has recently stepped down as Chief Executive of the Pacific Basin Economic Council; was previously the Chief Executive of the Australian Chamber of Hong Kong which she ran during SARS and the GFC; and established from scratch in Macau. During this time her greatest challenge was the management of volunteer Boards.

She is currently running consultancy firm Blue Moon Asia and is Chairman of The Entrepreneurs Club of Hong Kong

Debbie sits on the Advisory Council of the HK ASEAN Foundation; is a Founder Board Member of the HK Chapter of the Australian Rugby Foundation and is also a Task Force Member (Digital Economy) of the UN ESCAP Sustainable Business Network having also recently joined this organisation’s governing body – the ESBN Executive Council. She is an advisor to the AustCham Westpac Australia China Business Awards hand was Chairman of the Judges in 2016 and 2018.

He has an MBA from the University of Leicester.
