Antony Cook is Microsoft’s Regional Vice President and Chief Legal Counsel for Corporate, External and Legal Affairs (CELA) for Asia. Antony leads a multi-disciplinary team of 70 professionals that are responsible for providing legal and compliance support to business groups operating in the region; industry, community and government affairs counsel to Microsoft’s in-country operations; and support for digital security, intellectual property and data protection issues.
Antony joined Microsoft in 2002 in Sydney leading the legal support for Microsoft’s businesses in Australia and New Zealand. Antony moved to Singapore in early 2006, initially working as the Regional Director for Public Sector support in Asia Pacific before taking responsibility for the CELA team for Microsoft’s businesses in South East Asia in July 2007. Antony moved to Istanbul in December 2010 to build and manage the CELA team in the Middle East and Africa and held that position until 1 August 2017 when he returned to Singapore and his current role.
Prior to joining Microsoft, Antony had responsibility for business development and corporate functions across Asia and Europe as Head of Business Affairs for BT LookSmart. Antony also worked for four years with the law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer as a Senior Associate in their Hong Kong office specializing in telecom and IT transactions across Asia. Antony started his career at Moore & Bevins (now K&L Gates) a Sydney based full service commercial law firm.
Antony is Vice President of the Singapore Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel, a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of the National Association for APEC, a Director on the Board of the Singapore International Mediation Center and a member of the Singapore Management University School of Law and Technology Advisory Council.
Antony graduated from the University of New South Wales in Sydney with a Bachelor of Commerce (with commendation) and a Bachelor of Laws. Antony is admitted as a Solicitor to the Supreme Court of New South Wales, the Federal Court of Australia and the High Court of Australia.

Brandon Lee

Consul General of Canada at Global Affairs Canada

Mr. Brandon Lee was appointed as Consul General of Canada in Seattle in 2017, with accreditation for Washington State, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska.

Brandon Lee joined the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFATD) in 2004. He has a background leading management and innovation, and he has held several executive and management positions within the department. From 2007 to 2011, he oversaw reform activities to strengthen Canada’s international presence and became the Department’s first Director of Innovation. From 2012 to 2014, Mr. Lee held senior positions at the World Trade Organization and the International Committee of the Red Cross (both in Geneva), spearheading major organizational and international reform initiatives. From 2015-2017, Mr. Lee was Consul General of Canada in San Francisco, with accreditation for Northern California and Hawaii.

Previously, Mr. Lee worked in the private sector as a pioneer in online banking in North America and with large-scale telecommunications and IT management consulting firms.

Greg Shaw is Senior Director in the Office of the CEO at Microsoft and co-author of Hit Refresh by Satya Nadella (Harper Collins) and The Ability Hacks. Across a long career at Microsoft, Greg has served in many senior communications and community facing roles, including as a writer for Bill Gates and helping create the company’s giving program to provide access to computing and the Internet through public libraries. Prior to Microsoft, Greg was publisher and CEO of Crosscut.com, an online news and opinion magazine. He also served for nearly a decade as an executive at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, overseeing policy and advocacy for the foundation’s U.S. Program. Greg has been appointed to numerous start-up, government and nonprofit boards, and is asked frequently to be a speaker on news, media and publishing. He has a B.A. in journalism from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. Greg and his wife have two children.

Senior Director, Global Government Relations of Walmart

Sarah Thorn is primarily responsible for managing global government relations related to supply chain and trade issues at Walmart. In this capacity, she advocates for Walmart priorities in legislation and trade negotiations that impact the company’s worldwide sourcing, e-commerce and retail distribution rights. She also leads a team that drives global public policy in support of Walmart’s responsible sourcing commitments. Most recently, Sarah has expanded her portfolio to manage Walmart’s UK government relations, focused on BREXIT negotiations.

In 2011, Sarah led the strategy team that developed Walmart’s Global Women’s Economic Empowerment Initiative, which is focused on empowering women throughout Walmart’s global supply chain. She is actively involved in the implementation of the initiative, focusing primarily stakeholder engagement and global partnerships. Before joining Walmart, Sarah worked for seven years at the Grocery Manufacturers Association where she led the food, beverage and consumer products industry advocacy on international trade issues. Sarah has also worked as a consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers on business mobility issues and served as an international relations representative with AMP Incorporated.

Sarah began her career in Washington as a Presidential Management Fellow at the U.S. Information Agency. She holds a Master of Arts degree in law and diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and a Bachelor of Arts degree in comparative area studies and comparative literature cum laude from Duke University. She has been recognized as a Top Lobbyist by The Hill magazine and serves on the board of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition and Secretary of the Board of the Washington International Trade Association.

David Wroth

David Wroth is the Director of Data Science for Underwriters Laboratories Inc., identifying opportunities to address safety issues across the globe. He leads a team that collects and analyzes data from disparate sources and develops insights to improve safe living and working environments for people. One significant initiative is the UL Safety IndexTM, an algorithm that quantifies global safety using publicly available data. He is actively engaged in pursuing the safe, ethical and transparent implementation of artificial intelligence and the application of AI to safety challenges. Other efforts include the use of open data to identify improvements to safety standards and employing machine learning algorithms to rapidly identify safety issues from text sources. Previously, Mr. Wroth was the director of public safety, responsible for leading key initiatives of the Public Safety Office and integrating these functions with other UL organizational programs. David received a Master of Business Administration from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering from Purdue University.
