The Black Business Association is pleased to present our BBA Business Ready Program offering workshops and resources to assist our members and other participating business owners and entrepreneurs with the information, training and tools to become ready for contracting and capital funding opportunities. This workshop is sponsored by Southern California Edison and SoCalGas.

The cornerstone to qualify for most contracting opportunities is to be certified. This 2-part workshop, taking place on June 21, 2023 and June 28, 2023 from 2pm - 3:30pm via Zoom, serves to assist business owners with the essential instructions and information to identify which certification(s) are perfect for your business in addition to providing you the tools to begin the certification process.

At the end of this course, graduates will receive a certificate of completion from the Black Business Association in addition to the opportunity to schedule a step-by-step one-on-one consulting session with a qualified professional as a pre-cursor to completing the certification process.

In this 2-part workshop, you will learn:

  • what certification is and who should apply.
  • understanding the benefits and the "WHYs" for certifications
  • the common types of Federal and State (California) certifications
  • the creation and importance of General Order 156
  • about California's Regulated Utilities
  • and more
