Prior to joining the Hampton Roads Sports Commission, Clark was the Director of Norfolk Festevents, where he worked alongside a talented team of professionals to produce 13 premier festivals in downtown Norfolk, with an annual attendance of more than 500,000 people. He has created and maintained sponsorship relationships with Fortune 500 companies, and raised over $400,000 in corporate sponsorships in less than a two-year period. Clark also served 13 years as head coach of the NSU baseball program, where he presided over three of NSU’s best seasons in recent memory from 2015-17. The 2017 season marked the sixth time in Clark’s tenure that NSU reached the championship round of the MEAC tournament. Clark also helped create partnerships between NSU baseball and Tidewater-area school systems through initiatives like Norfolk Public Schools day at the NSU-Tides exhibition game and the “Hit the Books” reading program. Under Clark’s leadership, NSU also began the Spartan Baseball Speaker Series networking event for its players and launched the First Pitch Dinner fundraiser to highlight the opening of the season.
