Learn how to "turn" a block of wood into a beautiful bowl!

This class will teach you essential bowl turning techniques, focused on the bowl gouge and bowl scraper tools. You'll also learn how to hone these tricky tools to a sharp edge.

We will talk about wood grain, and how to present the tool to get the best finish. Since we only have the one lathe, we will all work together to create one bowl, and you will leave this class with the skills you need to make many many more! No previous experience needed.

    Samuel Shuster

By day, Sam Shuster is an engineer working at a large company.
By night (and weekend) he is a woodworker with experience in woodturning and furniture making. He especially likes taking twice as long as needed to make something with hand tools! Or even better: using hand tools to make a new, specialized tool and then never getting around to the actual project...

He’s been a Generator member since 2014 and is always excited to meet new members.
