This year, for the very first time, Singapore Institute of Landscape Architects (SILA) is organising an ambitious community activity where 30 Building Professionals from Singapore come together to build a home in Malaysia, for low income indigenous families.
Why BUILD?
Contribute & improve the quality of life for needy community of Orang Asli families
Cross disciplinary skills transfer and building partnerships
between the Built-Environment Professionals & Community (volunteer Architects, Landscape Architects, Engineers, Builders).
To gain hands-on experience which will enhance professional and personal development of the built environment professionals in Singapore
The 2019 team of Built Environment Professionals will be made up of volunteers (Landscape Architects, Architects, Engineers and Builders), and will help the community with our skills and time, and experience in return invaluable local building techniques. Supporting the building of homes and improving the daily quality of life for these needy families is a cause that is easy to champion.
