We hope the title caught your attention. And if it did, we'll be patting ourselves on the back - because kudos to us for grabbing your attention! Out With The Old, In With The New is most definitely NOT an event centred around age (if that had you concerned). It is however, an event which will be centred around defining the "right" people means and how we could go about attracting them, regardless of age, education background, or even years of experience - the list could go on...

As we look ahead, it is clear that the insurance industry is at the cusp of a major transformation. New technologies, shifting customer preferences, and changing regulatory environments are all shaping the way we think about risk and protection. In short, we are now looking at the rise of InsurTech.

Without a doubt, it is an interesting time to be working in this industry. But the question remains, why aren't we able to attract the "right" talents to join the industry? Talents with the right skillsets, tenacity, and mindset to lead, or to simply just contribute, to this industry-wide revolution.

In this first edition of CoveredUp | Community of Practice by the Malaysian Insurance Institute, we will be exploring answers and solutions to this pertinent question. What we have in store for your is a presentation of our findings* over a hot plate of breakfast and coffee, followed by an interactive debate where we'll dissect the answers and scrutinise it from various angles.

*In 2022, the Malaysian Insurance Institute (MII) conducted a Talent Market research exercise across the insurance industry. Specifically, we conducted an analysis on the ongoing and expected changes in the talent landscape within the insurance industry in Malaysia and broadly across the APAC region. The culmination of this research is summarised will be presented at this event.
