YCP brings together young workers and seasoned business professionals in a variety of programs to foster Catholic identity, encourage community, and inspire action.


The Executive Speaker Series is a free event open to the public in which executives share their career and faith journeys with young professionals, challenging them to "Work in Witness for Christ."


Attendees enjoy complimentary drinks and appetizers and have a chance to socialize before and after the evening's presentation.

Deacon Martin Gutierrez has worked for the Archdiocese of New Orleans for 27 years. He started as Executive Director of the Hispanic Apostolate and currently serves as the Vice President of Mission and Community Engagement at Catholic Charities - Archdiocese of New Orleans. He oversees various services such as homelessness, early childhood education, immigration, refugees, disaster recovery, and mental health. He has also been responsible for programs related to disaster recovery, job development, health, public safety, and race relations.

A graduate of the University of New Orleans, Deacon Gutierrez spent 13 years in banking before his service with the Archdiocese. He is a recipient of the Galvez Cup Award from the New Orleans Hispanic Heritage Foundation. He is also a recipient of the Young Leadership Council Role Model Award and the Excellence in Community Service Award from the Louisiana Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Deacon Gutierrez has completed the citizen's academies or the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the New Orleans Police Department, and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.


Deacon Martin was born in Nicaragua and moved to St. Bernard Parish in 1979. He has resided in Metairie since 1988 with his wife Judi. He is the father of three young adults: Martin, Andrew, and Jazmin and is the grandfather to Sofia and Liam.
