Evolving experience has shown that the path to business integrity is a shared responsibility of States and the private sector, together with civil society and academia. The commitment of the private sector to uphold business integrity practices is critical to healthy economic development. It helps ensure fair and safe markets, and impacts the overall well-being of societies. States can play dual roles by providing incentives to the private sector in the implementation of responsible business practices and impose sanctions for misconduct.
The UN Global Compact Network Indonesia (IGCN) is dedicated to support businesses to adopt sustainable business practices that align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact. This special, invitation-only forum for C-level executives provides a private space for open and honest discussions on how business leaders can go beyond just meeting regulations. This session is a part of the SDG 16 Business Framework: Inspiring Transformational Governance that we have started in 2021. We hope that the discussions will conclude with an impactful collective action on business integrity.
