Matthew Kelly

Qualifications: BBus (Economics, Financial Management), BEcon (Hons, 1)

 

Matthew is the founder and Principal Economist of Regional Economic Advisory (REA). He has a passion and drive for developing regional Australia and has led key strategic studies for housing and economic development across QLD, NSW, and WA.

He has led the economic analysis for several major regional infrastructure projects in and around Townsville, including the Townsville Airport Terminal Expansion and Masterplan, Queensland Country Bank Stadium, Museum of Underwater Art, TropiQ Health and Tropical Intelligence Precinct, and NQ Cowboys Centre of Excellence.  

Over the past 24 months, Matthew has been a project manager for the Rookwood Weir Landholder Engagement Program, led strategic land use studies across Charters Towers, Mareeba, Yarrabah, and Cairns and provided cost benefit analysis of social and affordable housing initiatives for the NSW Greater Cities Commission.

He has been an economic analyst and key commentator on the Townsville and broader North Queensland economies for the past 15 years.
