Future Streets and City Precinct

Wow, have we got an event for you; please join us for a roundtable held at the City of Melbourne! The purpose of this roundtable is to gain feedback and insights from us, to ensure the Future Streets framework best reflects the aspirations of all Melburnians.

Melbourne is the fastest-growing capital city in the country, and CoM is planning for its bright future. 98 percent of Melbourne's public open space is in its streets. As Melbourne grows to be a city of 9 million people by 2056, a balanced approach to the planning of our streets will help to ensure our city thrives and welcomes a growing number of workers, visitors and residents, while boosting city functionality and economic activity for traders and employers.

The draft Future Streets Framework proposes potential design principles and opportunities to guide the future planning of our city streets to create safe, efficient and vibrant spaces for all road users.

The draft Framework is proposed to shape our city for decades to come. CoM want to work alongside our community to create/shape a shared vision for our future. They're calling on all City Precinct Members to have their say, so CoM can create better streets for all.

This event will be held at Melbourne Town Hall Commons, 90-120 Swanston Street.

This is a member only event and places are limited, RSVPs are essential.

Key questions to think about ahead of the meeting:

· How can Melbourne's streets better serve the need of businesses now and into the future ?

· As the city population grows and space becomes more constrained, what street features are required to support a thriving sustainable, safe and inclusive capital city over the next 20+ years?

· What are your ideas to enhance the experience and function of streets for the short, medium and long term?

We hope to see you there!
