NAMA is charged with developing, supporting and communicating with our 96 NAMA-affiliated clubs. This new committee will liaise between NAMA and mycological clubs, both NAMA-affiliated and not.
We hope you will join us to help build greater communication and stronger relationships between NAMA and mushroom clubs.
Potential Responsibilities
- To promote the growth and development of NAMA.
- To work with the NAMA-affiliated clubs as follows:
- Arrange to have club events posted on the NAMA website.
- Provide relevant articles to The Mycophile.
- Invite clubs to participate in NAMA webinars, meetings, book clubs, forays, etc.
- Facilitate and administer NAMA foray scholarship opportunities.
- Send NAMA information to clubs for publication in their newsletters, websites, social media and message boards.
- Promote NAMA-affiliated club activities in NAMA's publications.
- Encourage clubs to have their members join NAMA and add NAMA membership applications to their membership drives.
- Help clubs with miscellaneous administrative, organizational, scientific and membership challenges.
- Work with the NAMA Membership Manager to collect the NAMA club dues in a timely manner.
- Identify and contact each non-affiliated mycological club and encourage it and its members to join NAMA, and provide any necessary assistance and/or paperwork.
- Attend club events and online meeting; present about the joys and benefits of NAMA-affiliation.

Q: Who will head up this committee?
A: That is undetermined. We will need someone to step up and chair this committee moving forward. Trent will get us started until a committee chair is appointed.
Q: What is the committee's job?
A: The committee's specific description needs developed, and, it is appropriate for the new committee to create its own goals and guidelines. NAMA wants a committee to oversee DNA sequencing at our events as well as help our members and club affiliates move forward in this realm. We also ask the committee (like our other committees) to provide 2 articles a year for The Mycophile, recommend webinar presenters, recommend annual foray speakers, host a book club (this is a new one), provide an annual report, hold regular meetings with minutes and select a scholarship student for our annual foray.
