Our children love playing computer games. But instead of just playing, why not learn to create your own game?

Students from NUS High School have organised a special coding workshop to teach children how to create their own game using Scratch, a coding language with a simple visual interface that allows young people to create digital stories, games, and animations. The ability to code computer programs is an important part of literacy in today's society. When people learn to code in Scratch, they learn important strategies for solving problems, designing projects, and communicating ideas.

After creating the game, they will teach the children how to present their game creation to a panel of judges.

This is part of our SPARK holiday series. When school ends, the learning doesn't have to. Let's keep our SPARK-lings engaged so that they will continue to learn and discover their passion and talents!

No prior knowledge in Scratch or coding is required. We welcome primary school children between the ages of 7-12 years old.

Parents are welcome to come along, no parent ticket is required. A separate room will be arranged for parents to connect with other parents while the children are busy coding.]
