Join PACDC for our next Commercial Corridor Working Group meeting (on Zoom this month!). Connect with peers and learn about upcoming neighborhood economic development opportunities, workshops, events, and resources!

PACDC's Commercial Corridor Working Group is a space to connect with other CDC staff and partners across the city who are working on neighborhood economic development issues. We tour commercial corridors, share information and resources, and find opportunities to collaborate or collectively advocate for inclusive and thriving neighborhoods.

July Meeting Topics & Speakers:


2025 National Main Street Conference:


Main Street America is bringing its annual conference to Philadelphia in early April 2025.


Julie Fitzpatrick, Executive Director of the PA Downtown Center, will join us to share more information about the conference, including opportunities to submit proposals for local mobile tours and/or classroom sessions.


Deb Bentzel, Senior Program Officer with the Regional Foundation, will also join us for this conversation so we can begin to think strategically at a regional level about opportunities to coordinate across multiple organizations to submit great session and tour ideas to engage the 2,500+ attendees from across the country who are expected to be coming to Philly for this conference.


2025 NeighborWorks Training Institute (NTI):


NeighborWorks America will be bringing NTI to Philadelphia next year as well (February).


This is a great professional development resource for community development practitioners, and will likely also create opportunities for us to highlight Philadelphia organizations, neighborhoods, and local businesses.


PACDC Corridor Manager On-Boarding Program - 2024-25 Cohort


Applications are OPENING for the next cohort on July 22 and will be accepted through August 28. There are two Info Sessions scheduled (see below), but we can also answer questions about the next cohort during the working group meeting.


AND -- time for meeting participants to share any emerging issues, questions, or resources with peers!

Info Sessions for Corridor Manager On-Boarding Program:


PACDC's Corridor Manager On-Boarding Program is designed for newer commercial corridor managers who have been in their positions for one year or less. The program spans 6 months (October-March) and includes 6 half-day workshops (one per month), one-on-one coaching with an experienced economic development professional, peer support sessions and experiential corridor tours with their training cohort, and access to resources and toolkits from PACDC. The program also includes two workshops and a one-on-one coaching session with Alia Sutton-Bey for all supervisors of participating corridor managers.


Applications for the next cohort will be open from 7/22-8/28


Please join us for one of the two upcoming info sessions. Both sessions will include the same information, and are great for potential participants, supervisors, coaches, or others interested in learning more about the program.
