Ainsley Mann has been with Swire Pacific since 1998 where he started in the Group’s Coca-Cola Bottling business before moving to the real estate sector in 2010. From 2006 to 2010 he was CEO of Coca-Cola Bottlers Manufacturing (Holdings) Ltd a joint venture between Swire, Coca-Cola and COFCO in China. After 20 years in China he moved back to Indonesia in 2013 where he currently heads up Swire Properties. Prior to joining Swire he worked in various real estate consultancies in the UK, Indonesia and Hong Kong between 1986 and 1993 before moving into the consumer product sector with Tait Asia in China and Vietnam. He is a qualified member of both the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the UK based Institute of Logistics & Transport. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Land Economics from the University of Aberdeen and is a graduate of the Executive Management Programme at INSEAD.
In 2012 he was nominated by Scottish Development International (SDI) as a “Global Scot” and shortly thereafter formally appointed by the First Minister of Scotland. As a Global Scot he has a responsibility to use influence, connections and experience to help foster commercial links with Scotland and is currently assisting initiatives in the seafood and marine energy sector between Scotland and Indonesia.
He is a keen sportsman and as his body has slowly given up he has spearheaded a number of unique sporting initiatives such as the first ever cricket event in North Korea in 2009, Japan Cricket’s 150 anniversary tour to the UK in 2013 and organized the first ever international cricket team (Scotland Women’s team) to tour China in 2006. Beyond sport he has been active in environmental education and until moving to Indonesia he held a Board position at the Jane Goodall Institute in China for many years.
