Distynct​ is a remote management system for hog barns, that connects smart sensors to a centralized cloud system. They bring a reliable cellular connection to the barn facility to enable WIFI, enable smart controllers, and monitor things like feed, manure, water use, propane, and electricity. This data is used to generate insights for the farmer or confinement company to create custom alerts, understand historical trends, and use for benchmarking. Distynct's business model consists of two parts: hardware and a SaaS model that brings the data collected from the hardware to a usable platform to make decisions. Distynct makes upgrading outdated swine barn alarm systems simple, practical, and expandable.

The company installed 116 smart alarm systems in 2022 and is projecting to have 480 units installed in 2023. Distynct is raising a $1M SAFE round.

Using artificial intelligence and deep learning, Motion Grazer​ is developing an inexpensive and effective device, consisting of hardware (camera and computer) and proprietary algorithms, to quantitatively evaluate animal posture to determine body condition and gait (lameness). After training using a neural network, this unit provides real-time health data and productivity predictions for individual animals. The outcome is increased farm efficiency and profitability as well as improved animal health, welfare and productivity. The Company is initially focused on breeding sows but will expand to finishing pigs as well as other animal species, including poultry. The SIMKit (SIM = Sows In Motion) is cost effective on the farm (5:1 ROI to farmer) and the majority of revenue will be generated via annual subscription fees on a per animal basis.
