Course Description

An essential skill for prosecutors is the ability to cross examine witnesses effectively. Popular culture teaches the wrong lessons on cross examination. Approach point cross examination recognizes that cross examination is won in closing argument, not during the cross examination. In this class, we will analyze the cross examinations in the movie "My Cousin Vinny". We will examine whether they would likely have been effective in an actual trial and then use the approach point method as an alternative.
