SheLeadsTech x WiFA Webinar in National Cyber Security Awareness Month

Fintech, or financial technology, is one of the most innovative and rapidly-growing industries in the world. Fintech companies are constantly developing new technologies and products to make financial services more accessible, convenient, and affordable for consumers and businesses. However, despite the industry's incredible potential, there is a significant gender gap among fintech leaders. In Asia, women make up only 30% of the fintech workforce, and only 10% of fintech startups are founded by women.

The "HERoes inspire leaders development in fintech" conference was created to help address this issue. The panel will bring together leading figures in the fintech industry to share their insights on how to reduce the gender gap and cultivate talent. In addition, the conference will also showcase successful women-led fintech companies and provide a platform for networking and collaboration. Ultimately, the goal of the "HERoes inspire leaders development in fintech" panel is to empower women in the fintech industry and inspire future leaders.

Tarini Nair is an Executive Director in Morgan Stanley’s Legal Division in Hong Kong. She is responsible for Sales and Trading legal coverage for Asia Pacific, with a focus on equity and wealth management. Tarini has over 12 years of experience in the legal practice and regularly advises her in-house clients on a variety of regulatory, derivatives trading and structuring and other financial services matters. Before joining Morgan Stanley, Tarini practiced at Clifford Chance as a derivatives lawyer advising investment banks and hedge funds on transactional and regulatory matters.

Tarini Nair is the co-chair of the Hong Kong Women’s Business Alliance at Morgan Stanley. She is passionate about achieving equity, diversity and inclusion in the work place and has led a range of initiatives focused on inclusion within the Firm’s Legal and Compliance Division.

Mother to a rescue dog, in her spare time Tarini can be seen hiking the trails of Hong Kong or throwing a frisbee at the beach.

Dr. Chau is currently the APAC Data Protection Officer (DPO) and Head of Security Special Projects at a Fintech Company. She is leading multiple security projects focused on Security Assurance and Operations in Blockchain and FinTech products and services, and internal operations. She also oversees the APAC privacy program as the Regional APAC Data Protection Officer (DPO), covering regions including China, Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, Australia and etc. Before that, Dr Chau was the Director of Hong Kong, Macao, and Cross-border Financial Affairs at Tencent, responsible for multiple strategic projects related to blockchain, AI-related cross-border financial products, FinTech policy advice, and government affairs. Concurrently, she managed the Office of the Chief Executive of Fusion Bank, Tencent invested virtual bank. She is responsible for leading strategic projects (mainly blockchain-related), maintaining coherent communication between Tencent and the Fusion Bank, and importantly, tracing and identifying risks and problems on strategic projects of the bank. Dr. Chau is highly praised for her performance and was selected as an outstanding employee multiple times.

Ms Carol Lee is the Program & SheLeadsTech Director of ISACA China Hong Kong Chapter. She was awarded Global 100 CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) Hall of Fame in 2021 and the Hong Kong Cyber Security Professionals Awards in 2016 in recognition of her determination and commitment in assuring the security of the cyberworld.

Other than the above community service volunteer role, she is the Head of Cyber Security & Risk Management of a Hong Kong listed company. She has substantial experience in leading enterprise-wide security programme to support cloud and digital transformation strategy, specialised in adopting proven change management methodology in the security & privacy management program. She has more than 25 years of working experience serving retails, insurance, supply chain, public utilities, manufacturing, property development, and consultancy industries.

Carol holds several information security designations, including CISM, CRISC, CDPSE, CCSP, CSSLP, CIPM and CEH. She is also a Certified Change Management Practitioner.
