In this course you will learn:
- Understanding dementia
- Effectively communicating with individuals with dementia
- Assisting individuals with dementia in performing activities of daily living
- Problem solving with individuals with dementia who exhibit challenging behavior
- Fundamentals of dementia care
- Safe environments
- Managing the activities of individuals with dementia.
~ Session One An online video session to complete at your leisure. A post-test must be passed by the session two date you registered for.
Approx. 6 hours.
~ Session Two Due to COVID-19 this class is virtual. Enroll for Session Two when you enroll for Session One. Maximum 12 per class
~ Once both sessions are complete, you will receive a certificate of completion and 4 CE Credits for the virtual session.
Enrollment begins April 19th and closes May 5th at 4:00 PM
Session One Video Session – Information for accessing the video modules will be emailed at least 2 weeks prior to Session 2.
Session 2 Virtual/Live Session via Zoom: May 20th – 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Zoom meeting link will be emailed upon completion of Session One,

$125.00 fee includes video/virtual education, workbook, postage, and a certificate of completion through CPI for the video portion. In addition, Elderwerks will provide 4 CE credits to Illinois RNs, SW, Professional Counselors & Nursing Home Administrators for the Virtual/Live Session.
