In this course you will learn:
- Understanding dementia
- Effectively communicating with individuals with dementia
- Assisting individuals with dementia in performing activities of daily living
- Problem solving with individuals with dementia who exhibit challenging behavior
- Fundamentals of dementia care
- Safe environments
- Managing the activities of individuals with dementia.
Part One An online video session to complete at your leisure. A post-test must be passed before the Part Two date you registered for.
Approx. 3 hours.
Part Two This class will take place on Zoom. Your camera must be on for the whole session. This must be completed the same month as your online session. There are two dates to choose from. Only 12 spots available for each date.
Once both sessions are complete, you will receive 6.5 Continuing Education Credits for this dementia training.
Enrollment begins December 1st and closes December 30th at 4:00 PM
Part One Video Session opens on January 4th and must be completed prior to January 21st

$125.00 fee includes virtual education, training book, postage, and certificate of completion. 6.5 CE credits will be awarded to Illinois nurses, social workers, professional counselors and nursing home administrators.
