DESIGNERS ANNUAL CONFERENCE -2021

The Session, facilitated by the Green Interior Design Programme Champions seeks to discuss around;

1. Understanding Green and Circular Economy;
2. Role of Designers in realization of Sustainable Agenda for Kenya;
3. Existing Policy, Institutional and Regulatory frameworks to Sustainability and Circularity;
4. Strategies required to fast-rack realization of Green Economy for Kenya; and
5. Proposed National Green Incentive Policy ; what's available for Designers ?

What does it take to be a Professional in Kenya ?
The Design profession is a building block in the 22nd Century and a key pillar towards realizing the Government's Development Agenda.

Design professionals have been left out in major professional, regulatory, statutory, legislative and policy frameworks in the yester-years due to lack of professional formations to steer this agenda; Formations that comes with Ethical accountability and responsibilities. Are Designers equal to the task ahead?

Values and Principles Act of 2015 requires every person considering him/herself professional in Kenya to register with line professional Association and is bound to comply with the provisions regarding registration and Continuous Professional Development provided by the Association.
It further describes a Code of Ethics as a code to regulate a profession.

2. Role of professional associations in Professional Development
3. Professional and regulatory frameworks available for Designers in Kenya.
4. What is CPD? The obligations of a professional Association to its members
5. Roles of professional bodies in promoting ethical practices in Kenya
6. Roles of a professional association in policy and standards formulation and development in Kenya.
