Professor of Architectural Engineering at Penn State University
William Bahnfleth is a professor of architectural engineering at Penn State University. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois and is a Registered Professional Engineer. He has held industry and government positions as a Principal Investigator at the US Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratory and Senior Consultant at ZBA, Inc.
He is a Fellow of ASHRAE, ASME, and ISIAQ. Dr. Bahnfleth is the author of over 170 publications and several books. He was President of ASHRAE from 2013-2014 and currently chairs the ASHRAE Epidemic Task Force. His honors include the ASHRAE Exceptional Service Award, Louise and Bill Holladay Distinguished Fellow Award, E.K. Campbell Award for teaching, and the F. Paul Anderson Award – ASHRAE’s highest honor.
