Event Details

Research has shown that individuals with ADHD experience difficulties with emotional regulation.

Those with effective emotional regulation skills form stronger relationships, have fewer behavioral problems, do better academically, and generally lead happier, healthier and less stressful lives.

With explicit instructions, those with ADHD can develop these critical skills. Without adequate coaching the individual often adopts ineffective ways of dealing with stressful or difficult situations, such as aggressive, avoidance or defensive behaviour.

This interactive workshop will introduce you to the Taking CHARGE of My Rainbow of Emotions book and accompanying app called Rainbow of Emotions App: Teaching Emotional Regulation Skills Step by Step (www.rainbowofemotions.app). These resources aim to help the individual (child, adolescent or adult) with ADHD to identify, express and manage their emotions in a healthy, safe, and socially acceptable way. Come along to this workshop and learn the strategies for coaching children, adolescents and adults develop emotional regulation skills.
