Event Details

In the Philippines, businesses across various industries are increasingly recognizing the importance of harnessing Natural Climate Solutions (NCS) in their operations. For example, companies in the agriculture sector are adopting sustainable farming practices such as agroforestry and organic farming to reduce their carbon footprint and protect natural ecosystems. Similarly, businesses in the energy sector are investing in renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and minimize greenhouse gas emissions. By incorporating nature-based solutions into their strategies, Filipino businesses are not only contributing to climate mitigation efforts but also promoting sustainable development and resilience in the face of a changing climate. The transition requires organizations to navigate various solutions and mechanisms to adapt to these changes. The Philippines is a country with rich biodiversity and natural resources, making it an ideal location to explore the potential of NCS.

Best efforts are being made to utilize the power of NCS in the Philippines, such as reforestation projects, mangrove restoration initiatives, and sustainable land management practices. Through collaboration between government agencies, non-profit organizations, and local communities, the country is working towards a more sustainable future that prioritizes nature as a key player in combating climate change. By investing in these NCS, the Philippines can not only mitigate the impacts of climate change but also preserve its unique biodiversity and natural heritage for future generations.

In this webinar, we will be hearing from one of BSD's global partners, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development - Natural Climate Solutions Alliance as they bring a comprehensive overview of NCS, including its significance for climate and nature targets, the cases of purchasing credits in the voluntary carbon market and avenues for further engagements through the NCS Procurement Hub. This aims to introduce new concepts and initiate the discussion in developing better strategies for businesses. This virtual event will benefit the BSD Member Companies to stay up-to-date on the latest developments and have the networking opportunity to connect with thought leaders.
