Event Details

Central sensitisation is a feature of a wide range of painful conditions and presents a challenge in assessment and management.

To further explore mechanisms and management options for central sensitisation, the Train Pain team interviewed Prof. Mari Lundberg about a paper she recently co-authored titled "Central sensitisation in chronic pain conditions: latest discoveries and their potential for precision medicine".

The conversation touched on the different pain mechanisms and the assessment challenges when considering the complexity of pain. How to translate research into practice is a topic close to Mari's heart and the team discussed the differences and similarities between practises of care in Sweden and South Africa.

Join us for the live session with the TPA team where we will unpack the mechanisms of central

sensitisation as applied to case studies. We will explore how to differentiate between different pain mechanisms by looking at the signs and symptoms distinct to each mechanism and then discuss tailoring treatment accordingly.
