Research suggests that when you talk with someone you are only listening to 50% of what is actually being said. If we turn this around, that means your staff are also only listening to about 50% of what you are saying.

Active listening and Listening for Meaning are so much more than hearing what someone says. Done properly, you can learn a lot. It also demonstrates respect, gives credence and establishes rapport. There are simple techniques to learn to listen actively.

In this session, we will train your brain to turn on your ability to actively listen and practice this skill. You will see how committing a bit more energy in active-listening can greatly reduce the time spent on understanding problems, engaging with staff, and daily management requirements. You will have some easy to implement techniques to help break into an active-listening mode.

In three short hours you and your team will develop a new skill, practice in a safe environment and will be ready to take this back to your workplace.

By the end of the session:

  • Managers will be introduce to the skills, practiced them, and received feedback on them.
  • Staff will understand that listening for meaning is more than just hearing.
