This masterclass will give you an overview of what ESG is and how it has evolved. It will outline who uses ESG metrics and approaches, outline some of the lessons learned and best practice that has emerged, and where, when, and how to integrate them into your business activities. The masterclass will look at ESG through the lenses of investors, shareholders, stakeholders, employees, customers, suppliers, organisations and government.
It will highlight why it is important for those various groups, what their main motivations are for using ESG and what metrics are important. It will also give guidance on how to determine what is important to focus on to enable you to implement, incorporate and embed appropriate practices and thinking within your organisation.

Dr Marie Parramon-Gurney

Dr. Parramon Gurney is a sustainability expert with more than 19 years’ focused experience in Africa, from high policy development at continental level to project implementation on the ground. She is the Chief Transformative Impact Officer at Skultcha, shifting culture for a better world, a purpose driven organisation (www.skultcha.com).
Her goal is to support people, companies, communities, organisations and stakeholders to become change agents to deliver systemic and transformative impacts and authentic value supporting a more sustainable, conscious, inclusive world.
Wendy Poulton
Director of Strategic MindsetsWendy is currently the director of Strategic Mindsets a company specialising in strategy and risk consulting and coaching. Before that she was General Manager Organisational Strategy at Eskom and her main area of technical expertise is in the energy field where she has worked for more than 30 years. Wendy has held various roles in Eskom in R&D, environment, sustainable development, climate change, safety and strategy and risk.
Wendy is a Secretary General of the South African National Energy Association and the Secretariat of the Energy and Green Economy Working Group of the South African BRICS Business Council.
Wendy holds an MSc from the University of Pretoria, has completed the Management Advancement Programme at the University of the Witwatersrand Business School and the Global Executive Development Programme at the Gordon Institute of Business Science, University of Pretoria. In addition, she has a Diploma in Strategy and Innovation from Oxford University Said Business School and is a qualified coach.
