Erin Aiello is the Law Enforcement Trainer with the Humane World for Animals who presented for us last time and has been an assistant district attorney in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for more than thirteen years. Working for three different district attorney offices, she has had the opportunity to serve both urban and rural communities. Officially, her primary caseload is and has been the prosecution of abuse related crimes such as child abuse, sexual assault, and intimate partner violence. Unofficially, Erin has been her own one-person animal cruelty unit in every office she has joined. In between offices, Erin spent time in private practice where she worked on family law, civil litigation and criminal defense. Currently, Erin works in the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Unit in the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, where she focuses primarily on the prosecution of high-risk domestic violence offenders.

Kristen Tullo serves as the Pennsylvania State Director for Humane World for Animals, where she leads advocacy efforts to advance animal protection laws at the state and local levels. She holds a master’s degree in Community Psychology from Pennsylvania State University, with a focus on animal welfare initiatives. Kristen works closely with advocates and policymakers to drive impactful legislative change and has played a key role in passing landmark protections for animals across Pennsylvania. Her leadership and commitment have earned her appointments to Governor Josh Shapiro’s Transition Committee and Attorney General Dave Sunday’s Transition Team, where she represented the animal welfare community.

Through grants, training, partnerships and events, we help shelters; rescue organizations; veterinarians; law enforcement officers; local, state and federal governments; community leaders; and the public change animals’ lives. We’ve connected more than a million pets and their families with the resources they need. And we’ve taught thousands of professionals how to lead effective investigations, resolve human-animal conflicts with kindness, implement high-volume, high-quality spay/neuter techniques, help street animals and pets living with their families in poverty and more.
