Event Details

Brief Description:

Financial instruments make up almost the entirety of a financial institution's statement of condition. These financial instruments expose the entity to various risks that need to be understood and prudently managed. Additionally, regulators particularly the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) have high expectations on the quality of risk management systems employed by supervised financial institutions, as embodied in regulatory guidelines such as Circulars no. 855 and 971, among others.

It is thus important that banking professionals possess strong working knowledge of and familiarity with how financial risks attached to these financial instruments are managed.

This seminar program is part of a three-module Deep Dive series on financial instruments. This particular program provides a comprehensive discussion on applicable theories and concepts on the basics of financial instruments, what are the risks arising from them, and how they are managed, with the goal of equipping participants with significant learnings as part of their development as banking professionals in the Philippines.
