Scott Day, Fall Line Capital
Scott Day, Fall Line Capital www.fall-line-capital.com/ Scott Day is a farmer from Deloraine, Manitoba. For almost 24 years Scott was also an Ag Rep and Crop Diversification Specialist & Research Farm Manager for Manitoba Agriculture in Southwest Manitoba. He then left the Manitoba Government in 2011 to help start the agricultural investment and ag tech firm called “Fall Line Capital” which is based in California’s Silicon Valley. Fall Line invests in Farmland across the USA and then manages those farms in conjunction with local farmers with a focus on soil and water conservation. Fall Line also invests globally in early-stage new Ag & Food Technologies. Fall Line takes a very active role in the management of all their investments. Scott has direct farming experience, not only across North America, but also in Australia, Europe & the Former Soviet Union. Scott has won awards for his ag extension work and promotion of conservation agriculture including Canada’s “Zero-Till Farmer of the Year” and “Conservation Farm of the Year”. Scott has spoken about Conservation Agriculture at “AgriTechnica” in Hannover, Germany, “Crop World” in London, England, the FAO/UN in Rome, and the “World’s Fair” in Milan, Italy. Along with recent speaking opportunities such as “Grainworld”, “AgDays” and other agriculture events in North America. Scott has also been a contributing author to the advanced agriculture reference books: “The Search for Sustainable Agriculture” and “Rainfed Farming Systems Around the World”. Scott most recently contributed to the book “Advances in Conservation Agriculture, Volume 2” by Amir Kassam with the UN/FAO. Scott received a BS in Agriculture from the University of Manitoba in 1987 and is a Professional Agrologist. Scott is currently a Director and the Chief Agronomist for Fall Line Capital, but he also continues farm, with the help of his family, at Deloraine, Manitoba in Southwest Manitoba. Their family farm is called Treelane Farms Ltd., and it is a typical Prairie farm growing: cereals, pulses and oilseeds (if they are lucky). Scott and his wife Ann spend their winters at the Fall Line head office in San Mateo, California and their summers are spent back home at the farm in Canada, where he uses Minot, ND as his transportation hub to the various places Fall Line takes him. Ann and Scott have a daughter Alex who is now working on a Biology Masters at Carleton University in Ottawa.

Timothy Hoerr, Serra Ventures www.serraventures.com/ tim@serraventures.com +1 2178195201 Timothy (Tim) Hoerr is the CEO and founder of Serra Ventures, LLC, a venture capital firm that provides coaching, management guidance and funding to emerging stage companies in selected high technology sectors throughout the United States and internationally. With offices in Champaign, Chicago, Park City and San Diego, Serra has provided consulting to over 500 technology start-ups and has provided funding to 110+ of them. They presently manage $180 million in early-stage company investments with the support of over 285 limited partner investors. In 1983, Tim graduated summa cum laude from Illinois State University with a degree in Accounting and Business Information Systems. He received the Bone Scholar Award, the highest undergraduate award at Illinois State, and went on to win national awards on the Certified Public Accounting exam and Certified Management Accounting exam. Tim was formerly a partner in the international accounting and consulting firm RSM, in Illinois and San Diego. He spent nearly 15 years with the Firm. In the 2000’s, Tim served as President of SourceGear, a software firm, and then as Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of iCyt, a bioscience instrument firm which won numerous technology and business awards including Best Places to Work in Illinois. The company was acquired by Sony Corporation in 2009. Tim won the Entrepreneurial Excellence in Management Award at the Innovation Celebration in 2009. He served as the CEO of ImmuVen for two years, while he was launching Serra Ventures. ImmuVen developed a targeted T-cell receptor therapeutic for various disease indications and it was acquired by Abbvie in 2014. In side-bar endeavors, Tim has enjoyed: • Owning (along with two partners) the Official Fan Store of the Fighting Illini (University of Illinois), Gameday Spirit, from 1999 to 2014. • Owning (along with eight co-investors) and directing a multi-unit Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches franchisee located in central Texas from 2010 to 2020. • Owning (along with a co-founder), Collegiate Marketing Inc. from 2004 to 2011 • Executive producing the film, Beyond the Mask, in 2012 and 2013 Tim is the author of the book Risking It: An Intersection of Faith & Work as well as Thank God It’s Monday! A Toolkit for Aligning Your Lifevision and Your Work. Tim’s books provide insight on how he has actively sought to build authentic relationships, take appropriate risks, serve clients with excellence and catalyze others to life live on purpose. In speaking engagements, Tim enjoys sharing his successes and failures with the businesspeople and entrepreneurs who are building today’s high-performance organizations. Tim and his wife of 40 years, Toni, reside in Champaign and have three adult daughters, three sons-in-law, and seven grandchildren. Tim serves on a number of non-profit and corporate boards.
