CAPA-TE

CAPA-TE is a non-profit, non-religious and non-political organization. It is also noncommercial, nonsectarian, and nonpartisan. Its mission is to support educational excellence for K-12 students in the Tredyffrin-EastTown (“TE”) School District, and to support members to be informed of, involved with and empowered on public school and community matters.

Celebration of AAPI Heritage Month: Forum on Asian American’s History, Culture, and Future

The forum aims to discuss topics such as Asian-American diaspora, self-identity, history, activism, and stereotypes. We invited tens of Asian American NGOs to bring together Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders from all across the greater Philadelphia area to enjoy a day of learning, networking, and connecting with other AAPIs who are creating change in their communities and raise awareness of other prominent issues that affect AAPI communities.

Deana Wang

Former Board Chair at CAPA-T/E

Dr. Heejung Park (B.A. in Psychology, University of Minnesota, Twin Cities; M.A. and Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology, UCLA) is an Assistant Professor of Psychology and a Co-Director of Child and Family Studies at Bryn Mawr College. She is also a founding member of the Tri-College Asian American Studies Group that brings together community members of Bryn Mawr, Haverford, and Swarthmore Colleges to expand knowledge of the diverse histories and experiences of Asian Americans. As a cultural-developmental psychologist, Dr. Park studies cultural values, identities, and lived experiences of children, youth, and families in diverse settings, with a particular attention to immigration, social change, and adaptation experiences in our increasingly interconnected and multicultural world. She has ongoing projects in the United States, South Korea, China, and India, and her course offerings include Asian American Psychology and Cross-Cultural Psychology.
