    Ruan Coetzee is the Compliance Officer at BravoScan, an Approved Electrical Inspection Authority specialising in electrical installations. With extensive expertise in the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and a strong background in litigation, Ruan is a trusted expert on the legal aspects of compliance and safety standards. Ruan has a B.Com LLB, Project Management Diploma and Construction Contract certificate, with advance knowledge in Consumer Protection and Banking Law. In his current role Ruan ensures adherence to regulatory frameworks and provides guidance on navigating complex legal requirements of the electrical industry.

    Leon Roos is a highly skilled electrical inspector and qualified Master Installation Electrician based in South Africa, with extensive experience in electrical engineering, safety, and compliance. Currently, he serves as the Chairman of Working Group 07 at the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS), where he leads the incorporation of IEC 60364 into the South African National Standards (SANS). In addition to WG07, Leon actively participates in several other working groups and committees, including those focusing on renewable energy, solar PV systems, and emerging electrical technologies.

    Leon is also dedicated to advancing international standards and represented South Africa at the IEC TC64 meeting, contributing to global discussions on electrical installations and safety. His commitment to professional development is evident in his extensive certifications, including his Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the Engineering Institute of Technology (EIT) (AQF Level 6), and his expertise in specialized areas like hazardous locations, earthing and bonding, and PV installations.

    In his role as an electrical inspector, Leon ensures compliance with safety and industry standards, working closely with stakeholders to promote excellence in electrical systems. Passionate about renewable energy and electric vehicle integration, he continues to champion innovation and sustainability in the electrical engineering field.
