As the holidays approach, and the world continues to stay home to stay safe, parents are increasingly concerned over their children and teen's gadget usage.
Well, parents, let's lead the way in modelling non-digital habits to our children! Time to stop worrying and actually DO NON-DIGITAL ACTIVITIES together. Even as we hope they will balance their ever-growing appetite for digital entertainment, we all can agree that reading is a lifelong hobby that we hope our children can adopt. So...
SPARK is happy to launch our very own Book Club !
For parents, we will be meeting over 5 Wednesday nights on ZOOM to discuss Peter Shankman's book "Faster than Normal". We promise that our participants will learn, laugh and cry together while we share our journeys parenting ADHD children.
And for parents with kids between the ages of 11-13 years old, you are in luck ! We will be running a concurrent Book Club for Tweens and they will be reading a local award winning children book entitled "Kelly & the Krumps" ! The tween will be in goods hands as the sessions will be led by our very own ADHD teen mentors who I am sure will make the books come alive. But more importantly, we hope that the book club will serve as a positive social platform for the tweens to support one another as they make the transition to Secondary School.
Please see details of the Adult & Tween Book Club sessions below :
"The more that you READ,
the more things you will KNOW.
The more that you LEARN,
the more more places you'll GO."
