The Global Black Safety Professional Organizations collectively represent a significant and dedicated effort to support and advance the careers of Black professionals in various safety-related fields. These organizations span across North America and Africa, each focusing on specific aspects of safety, health, industrial hygiene, compliance, risk management, and environmental protection.

  1. American Society of Safety Professionals – Blacks in Safety Excellence (BISE): This group, under the umbrella of the American Society of Safety Professionals, is committed to enhancing the professional development of Black safety professionals. It provides a robust platform for networking, mentorship, and resources, addressing the unique challenges and promoting the achievements of Black professionals in the safety field.
  2. American Industrial Hygiene Association - Minority Special Interest Group: Operating within the AIHA, this group focuses on supporting minority professionals in industrial hygiene. It's dedicated to promoting diversity, providing career support, and addressing workplace issues pertinent to minority professionals, thereby enriching the industrial hygiene profession.
  3. Canadian Association for Black Health and Safety Professionals: This Canadian entity is focused on the professional advancement of Black individuals in health and safety sectors. It emphasizes networking, professional development, and advocacy, aiming to improve representation and success rates of Black professionals in these critical fields across Canada.
  4. National Association of Black Compliance and Risk Management Professionals – Safety and Security Workgroup: A specialized segment of the NABCRMP, this workgroup addresses the specific needs and challenges of Black professionals in safety and security roles. It offers a supportive community, resources, and networking opportunities tailored to enhance career development and effective risk management practices.
  5. National Association of Safety and Environmental Professionals (Ghana): Based in Ghana, this organization focuses on the professional growth of safety and environmental professionals in the African context. It provides educational resources, networking opportunities, and professional development programs, catering specifically to the challenges and opportunities in the African safety and environmental sector.
