Whether you are a seasoned Internal Auditor or novice, the Global Internal Audit Standards (GIS) Master Class is a comprehensive training that offer participants an opportunity to develop a foundational and fundamental understanding of the internal audit profession, the internal audit process, and how the IIA's International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF), including the Global Internal Audit Standards that are effective 2025 and serve as the guiding compass for the internal audit activity.
The workshop delivers an enhanced level of knowledge of the professional practice of internal auditing to experienced Internal Audit practitioners, those who are pursuing an understanding of the internal audit nomenclature as new practitioners and external auditors who are transitioning to internal auditing through an in-depth exploration of the domains, principles, and standards. The workshop is also ideal for staff of a new internal audit department who are preparing for building a Quality Assurance Improvement Program.
The workshop will cover the following key areas:
- Introduction to IIA guidance found in the IPPF.
- Global Internal Audit Standards: Comparisons and contrasts between internal audit to external audit.
- Purpose, authority, and responsibility of the internal audit activity and concept of governance.
- Purpose of Internal Auditing.
- Ethics and Professionalism.
- Governing the Internal Audit Function.
- Managing the Internal Audit Function
- Performing Internal Audit Services: Planning.
- Performing Internal Audit Services: Fieldwork.
- Performing Internal Audit Services: Communicating.
- Performing Internal Audit Services: Monitoring.
The workshop will be held on July 22-26, 2024, at Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort, Naivasha. Charges are KES 55,000 and KES 60,000 exclusive of VAT for members and non-members respectively. Members in attendance will be awarded 20 CPE Hours.

The Institute of Internal Auditors Kenya is an accredited training provider with the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA). The NITA registration number is DIT/TRN/558(25b).
