Infrastructure Australia's 2021 Plan

Peter Colacino will provide an overview of Infrastructure Australia's 2021 Australian Infrastructure Plan, which includes reform recommendations for social infrastructure for the very first time.


His presentation will outline the economic case for quality, accessible and future-focused social infrastructure and the role for government and industry in driving reform.


He will also discuss the urgent need for greater investment in social housing to improve the standard of dwellings, address the growing shortfall and provide a greater range of housing types.

Peter Colacino is one of the leading voices in Australian infrastructure. He is responsible for driving Infrastructure Australia's transformative policy and research agenda across sustainability, resilience, place-making, industry productivity and transport planning.


An accomplished leader with experience in strategy, policy and corporate affairs. Peter has held senior roles across politics, industry and government, including within some the world's largest infrastructure operators.


As Chief of Policy & Research at Infrastructure Australia, Peter led delivery of the landmark 2019 Australian Infrastructure Audit and (forthcoming) 2021 Australian Infrastructure Plan. Prior to that he was Executive General Manager of Growth and Partnerships at the NRMA.


He began his career as geographer and enjoys applying a systems thinking approach to drive complex reform.
