Claire Mawisa is an accomplished South African media personality and seasoned broadcaster with nearly three decades of experience across television, radio, public speaking, and facilitation. After gaining national attention as Cosmopolitan’s Model of the Year at just 15, Claire transitioned into a dynamic media career that has included hosting prominent television shows and establishing herself across leading radio stations such as YFM, Metro FM, Kaya FM, and Classic FM.

Claire currently serves as an investigative journalist with Carte Blanche, one of South Africa’s most respected current affairs programs. She is also a TEDx speaker and a sought-after media trainer, providing public speaking and media coaching to corporate executives and creative professionals alike.

Driven by a passion for empowering young women, Claire co-founded Luminosity Lab, an initiative that has reached over 100,000 participants through school, university, and corporate workshops nationwide. She also co-hosts Karen&Claire IG Live sessions, offering wellbeing insights grounded in real-life experience.

Her leadership extends into the non-profit sector, where she serves as a Trustee for WWF South Africa and sits on the boards of RX Radio and Ibis Reproductive Health. Known for her authenticity, empathy, and professionalism, Claire brings unmatched warmth and insight to every stage she steps onto.

She has delivered talks and hosted events for leading brands including Coca-Cola Beverages SA, MTN Group, Unilever, Microsoft, SingularityU, Investec, and the Department of International Relations & Cooperation.

Dr Abdullah Verachia serves as the CEO of The Strategists where he leads a world class team that play an active role in assisting companies and organisations craft competitive future strategies and innovation. He is also head of faculty for strategy, sustainability and digital at GIBS and head of the Harvard Business School Senior Executive Programme for Africa. He is also the Multichoice Chair in sport, media and entertainment. He serves on a number of boards as a non-executive

Known as the disruption expert, he has significant expertise in strategy, competitiveness and sector trends and facilitates a number of high-level strategy sessions and breakaways for companies and governments and also speaks globally in this area. He has also been awarded the excellence in teaching award, as voted by staff and students at GIBS, for a number of consecutive years.

He is a Harvard Business school alumnus. He holds a PhD in dynamic capabilities and strategy , a Bachelors in Law and a Masters in Management (cum laude). He has also completed executive programmes on strategy and shared value and also on Competitiveness, with Professor Michael Porter’s Institute of Strategy and Competitiveness, at Harvard Business School. He also completed an executive programme at University of Oxford’s Said Business School as well as an executive programme on broadcast technology at Columbia Business School.

Abdullah authored the best-selling book Disruption Amplified: Reset, rewire, reimagine everything and has co-authored 6 other books. He has been asked to present at some of the world’s leading institutions including the School of Public and International Affairs at Colombia University in New York, Tedx Euston in London, the OECD in Paris and Casa Asia in Madrid amongst others.

Tristan Marot is a Senior Associate at Norton Rose Fulbright in their Insurance team, where he provides expert advice to non-life insurers across Africa on policy wordings, complex claims litigation, dispute resolution, and the integration of disruptive technologies.

Tristan is actively involved in shaping the firm's AI strategy through his roles on both the regional AI Taskforce and Norton Rose Fulbright’s Global GenAI Management Committee. In these capacities, he helps guide the development of internal AI policies and tools, advises senior leadership on strategic investments in AI technologies, and ensures alignment with global standards of responsible AI use.

As the regional AI lead and a member of the global AI Advisory Team, Tristan advises clients on developing and implementing responsible AI programmes tailored to their specific operational and regulatory requirements. His work helps position Norton Rose Fulbright at the forefront of responsible AI deployment, balancing innovation with ethical considerations in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Pieter-Louis Myburgh is an award-winning and the author of two books on State Capture and corruption in South Africa. The Republic of Gupta (2017) examined the infamous Gupta family's activities in South Africa. Gangster State (2019) exposed former Free State Premier Ace Magashule's capture networks.

Myburgh has worked at Rapport newspaper and News24. In 2019 he joined Scorpio, the Daily Maverick's investigations team, where he currently works.

Myburgh's investigations include Prasa's R3.5bn 'tall trains' exposés, the R255m Free State asbestos scandal, and the health department's Digital Vibes fiasco, which led to the exit of then health minister Zweli Mkhize from President Cyril Ramaphosa's cabinet. He also recently exposed alleged malfeasance in an R800m contract to procure oxygen plants for government hospitals.

Myburgh was a member of the #GuptaLeaks team that in 2017 mined a massive trove of leaked emails and documents to expose the Gupta family's illicit dealings with the government of then president Jacob Zuma. The #GuptaLeaks team later won the Global Investigative Journalism Network's (GIJN) Global Shining Light Award, considered the highest accolade worldwide for investigative journalism.

Annabel Bishop joined Investec in 2001 and is the Chief Economist. She has worked in the macroeconomic, econometric, risk, financial markets, political risk, public finance and regulatory, among other, fields for around 25 years. Annabel is the holder of the Sake/Beeld Economist of the Year award for 2010 and has won numerous monthly Reuters Econometer awards, and various Focus Economics (Economic Forecasts from the World’s Leading Economists) categories for correctly forecasting a range of economic variables. She has authored a wide range of in-house and external articles, published both abroad and in South Africa. She has also guest lectured at Gibbs, the University of Pretoria, Wits, UJ and other academic institutions, and has presented at various national and international conferences. Author of the “Financial Services sector and its support to the economy“ section in the Better Choices Ensuring SA’s Future.

Brigadier Kobus Lategan joined the then SA Police Force in 1984 and moved through the ranks over the years in the Visible Policing environment. He is a trained Hostage Negotiator, Commercial Diver, Patrol-and Explosives Dog handler and through Interpol currently involved in the world of Counterfeit and Illicit Goods.

Brigadier Lategan was awarded in 2021 at the Interpol Global Conference the “Professional Service Award” for the first time in the history of South Africa. He took an interest in the fight against Counterfeiting in the streets and buildings of Johannesburg since 2017 and developed a model that will be officially launched in Lyon, France in September 2025.

The Minister of Police appointed him officially in 2023 to establish Counterfeit Units in all provinces of South Africa and extended his retirement from the Police till 2028. The officer together with dedicated teams have since a humble beginning in 2017 ,conducted countless operations with great success under dangerous circumstances.

His performances are nothing short of astonishing, featuring mind-bending feats of metal bending, mind reading, thought predictions, and telekinesis demonstrations that will leave you questioning what is truly possible.

He has dazzled some of the world’s biggest names, including celebrities like Jay Z, Beyoncé, Mike Rutherford of Mike and the Mechanics, and Andie MacDowell. His remarkable talents have also earned him the honor of performing for royalty, including Prince Harry and 10 times for the Prince of Saudi Arabia.

He is not only the youngest South African to grace the stage at the world-famous Magic Castle in Hollywood but also the only South African to be awarded a prestigious membership there.

His mission is to inspire each of us to believe in the impossible and to open our minds to the boundless potential within ourselves. He is here tonight to remind us that we all have the power to create the future we desire.
