Join the workshop on "Interpretation and application of the IFC Performance Standards (PS)" comprised of three tailormade modules and case studies that specifically focus on projects in Myanmar. The workshop will provide participants with an in-depth understating of IFC clients' responsibilities and application for managing their environmental and social risks.
Covering key concepts of the entire eight IFC Performance Standards, Risk management, Labor, Resource efficiency, Community, Land resettlement, Biodiversity, Indigenous people and Cultural heritage, participants will also study the nine elements that compose an Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS). The entire workshop will conclude with an ESMS self-assessment exercise against these nine elements.
The workshop is particularly relevant for those practitioners that aim to expand their technical ability as well as for those who seek to improve their organization's representations.
The first module is a three-hour workshop providing an understanding of the logic behind the Performance Standards, with a focus on policy reviews, case studies, and requirements of PS 1 the Assessment and Management of Environmental and Social Risks and Impacts.
Delivered by a senior consultant at ERM, a leading global provider of environmental, health, safety, risk and social consulting services, each module of the workshop will be taught relative to case studies and exercises that will equip participants with the best knowledge to apply the IFC Performance Standards.
