Nicolas Sosa is an Application Developer at GPI and graduated from Stony Brook University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with minors in Electrical Engineering and Creative Writing. Nic’s 4 years of experience in the industry has seen him working on projects that involve algorithm-based geoprocessing calculations, automated feature extraction of geolocated asset information, web-based traffic management applications for local governments, and interactive virtual training programs for the federal government. He is always trying to incorporate his passion for learning new and interesting techniques into his work. Most recently he has been able to combine his experience developing video games with applications in the A/E industry.

Daniel F. DeCrescenzo Jr. is President of MTA Bridges and Tunnels (aka Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority or TBTA), which operates nine tolled crossings linking the boroughs of New York City. These facilities handle approximately 900,000 daily trips and generate annual toll revenue of more than $2 billion. Leading a staff of 1,000 B&T employees, DeCrescenzo is responsible for carrying out the agency’s core mission of providing safe, secure, and reliable passage for customers; advancing state of good repair; and the collection and protection of toll revenue, which subsidizes the MTA’s mass transit services.
DeCrescenzo began his career at the MTA as a Bridge and Tunnel Officer in 1990. He progressed through the ranks to Lieutenant, followed by a range of positions including Training Instructor, Director of Bridges South, Director of Central Operations & Deputy Chief, and Vice President & Chief of Operations. He is knowledgeable in all areas of agency business including tolling, revenue collection, law enforcement, capital planning and maintenance, budget, procurement, traffic control, safety, security, labor relations, incident and project management, policies, training, and scheduling.
During his over three decades of service, DeCrescenzo has played key roles in major transformations and events such as the agency’s response following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, expansion of the Operations Command Center, major weather events such as Superstorm Sandy, the planning and implementation of Open Road Tolling in 2017, and most recently led the agency through the COVID-19 pandemic.
DeCrescenzo is a current Board Member of TRANSCOM (Transportation Operations Coordinating Committee) and a member of ASIS (American Society for Industrial Security) International.
As Deputy Chief Engineer Program Management of MTA Bridges & Tunnels Construction & Development (MTA B&T/C&D) Romolo De Santis is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Capital and Major Maintenance programs at the Authority’s two vehicular tunnels – Queens‐Midtown Tunnel and Hugh L Carey (formerly Brooklyn‐Battery) Tunnel and our two Rockaways crossings – Marine Parkway Bridge and Cross Bay Veterans Bridge. Mr. DeSantis leads a 50 person professional Engineering organization including Facility Engineering and Recovery & Resiliency Program. Mr. De Santis also serves as MTA B&T Chief Resiliency Officer.
Mr. De Santis has been with MTA Bridges & Tunnels since November 2001 and has previous experience in the private sector in engineering consulting as well as construction/project management implementing major public works projects in the New York area. At MTA B&T, Mr. De Santis successfully led the recovery and restoration initiatives for Authority facilities impacted by Superstorm Sandy, from dewatering 60 million gallons of saltwater from the tunnels in the aftermath of the 2012 disaster, through reconstruction of the tunnels that totaled more than $650 million, to implementing a comprehensive flood mitigation program to protect against Authority facilities against future storms. Negotiated with FEMA for a $403 million grant for restoration and mitigation of the tunnels. Mr. De Santis was also Instrumental in successfully implementing the facility-wide Open Road Tolling (ORT) program. He currently serves as the Agency Lead Infrastructure Engineer for the Central Business Tolling Program (CBDTP).
Mr. De Santis is a licensed professional engineer in New York. He holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering and a Masters of Science in Management from Polytechnic University, New York.
