This class is an overview of earthquakes and how they damage buildings and infrastructure. It also includes a review of basic disaster preparedness principles and the differences between regional and localized disasters. This is not a presentation to review first aid or evacuation procedures but rather an informative and thought-provoking class introducing disaster preparedness using earthquakes as a focal point.
By using real-life loss examples and integrating both missteps and success stories along with audience participation will ensure that all will come away with at least one good takeaway.
