June Safety Council

Thursday, June 8th we will meet from 8:30-9:30 for our monthly Safety Council Meeting. Our speaker for this month will be Megan Raber from Pomerene Hospital. Her presentation will cover knowledge related to helping keep diabetic individuals safe in the workplace. A general overview of diabetes will first be provided. We will also discuss the warning signs and symptoms of someone in a diabetic emergency and what we can do to help. We will also discuss ideas of resources to have available to diabetic individuals in the workplace.

Megan is a registered nurse and the Diabetes Education Coordinator at Pomerene Hospital in Millersburg. She is a 2012 graduate of Walsh University in North Canton, OH where she earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Megan spent the first several years of her nursing career working in progressive cardiac care, education, and nursing management in the Sarasota, Florida area. She has been with Pomerene Hospital since her relocation to Ohio in 2020, where she provides education and resources through their Diabetes Education program to individuals seeking help in managing their diabetes and improving their health and wellbeing.
