Singapore Institute of Landscape Architects' (SILA) 'Kayak N Klean ' Project on the 27 March 2022, is the third of a series of quarterly Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects planned. By partnering Kebun Baru Community Sports Club (KBCSC), the institute intends to foster a deeper sense of ownership and connection with our coastal environment, by embarking on a fun and meaningful paddle and clean up activity, together with our members, collaborators, stakeholders and friends.

This project is an extension of the landscape architecture work, involving environmental and biodiversity conservation, that many of our members are already involved in. The project will help raise awareness of Singapore's environmental challenges, such as coastal pollution, erosion and specifically the natural ecosystem at Seletar Island/Sg. Simpang/Sg. Khatib Bongsu areas. By engaging the community and grassroots organisations, we seek to inculcate the sense of biophilia (love of nature) in the general populace, to help drive the Singapore's "City in Nature" vision.
